1. “This photo was taken at the 4th of July fireworks in The Woodlands, Texas, last year. The Lake Conroe Preserve is about 20 minutes north and folks come from miles around to watch the show.”

-
Beverly Schulz, The Woodlands, Texas
2. “I named this shot ‘Ducky Morning.’ In March we took our grandchildren to Wilderness Lakes for a fun-filled five days. On our way to the miniature golf course we passed the pool, where we encountered this happy duck. He was in all his glory having the pool to himself. After checking pool rules and hours, we didn’t see where a time had been set aside for these fellows. Perhaps there should be—tee hee! Our grandchildren were tickled to see a duck in the pool.”
- Jackie Shibley, Barstow, California

3. “This was taken at the Idyllwild Preserve during our annual church campout. The natural slide attracted the kids, especially the soft sand at the bottom. My son, Timothy (in red), watched as an unknown child dared the slide. The slide was about 20 feet long, at a 40 degree angle, ending in soft sand. The boys wore most of the sand back to camp.”
- Michael Weinert, La Verne, California
