Balboa Park

Balboa Park

Balboa Park is a 1,200 acre urban park famous for being the home to the San Diego Zoo plus 17 museums, multiple performing arts venues, gardens, trails, and many other recreational activities! Visit the Fleet Science Center to investigate more than 100 exhibits or catch an IMAX movie that’ll take you on a journey through the wonders of the planet! There are 19 different gardens to explore and where you can learn about all kinds of flora including those native to California. San Diego Zoo
While you’re in Balboa Park, consider making a trip to The San Diego Zoo. The San Diego Zoo was a pioneer of open-air, cageless exhibits that recreate natural animal habitats. The zoo sits on 100 acres within Balboa Park and has one of the largest zoological membership bases in the world. Whale Watching
The best time to go whale watching in San Diego is from December through April during the seasonal migration of California blue whales and gray whales from the north down to warmer waters. San Diego Whale Watch takes visitors out on the water all year as different whales take different migration paths throughout the year. For more information visit sdwhalewatch.com. You may also catch other sea wildlife life like seals and dolphins when you book an experience with San Diego Whale Watch. Gaslamp Quarter
If you’re feeling fancy, head downtown to the Gaslamp Quarter where visitors could spend all day popping into this area’s many high-end retail stores and fine dining restaurants. The Gaslamp Quarter also has a bustling nightlife and many rooftop bars. Take in the sunset and incredible view of downtown San Diego at the Altitude Sky Lounge, 22 stories up. The Altitude Sky Lounge has a daily happy hour and opens up two hours before San Diego Padres’ games for a tailgate in the sky.
